Job Description

Lead Laboratory Technician, Perfumery & Beauty – Princeton, NJ

Location: Princeton, NJ, US

Join our Technical Development team as a Laboratory Technician and play a key role in shaping innovative fragrance solutions within our Perfumery & Beauty division. As the Lead Laboratory Technician, Perfumery & Beauty, you’ll support both proactive and client-driven fragrance and technology development projects within the Air Care category. You’ll contribute to the design and execution of scientific studies, method development, and technical evaluations that help deliver winning fragrance experiences and consumer-preferred benefits. Working alongside experienced scientists and cross-functional partners, you’ll help translate insights into innovative solutions while ensuring the highest standards of quality, precision and execution.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure air care products meet perfume action standards and recommend solutions to creation teams when needed
  • Test samples for performance and stability while meeting deadlines and following good laboratory practices
  • Coordinate with Perfumers, Fragrance Development Managers, Account Teams and sample labs to support planning and project execution
  • Maintain a clean, organized workbench in line with laboratory best practices
  • Document results, prepare reports, and present data clearly
  • Contribute to a team-focused environment by supporting colleagues during periods of high workload

You Bring:

  • 4+ years’ experience in Perfumery or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint with ability to chart and present data
  • Passion for problem solving and ability to plan, manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or related field

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $75,000-$80,000.

In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits. All benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements.
