Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide hands-on technical support for end users in a fast-paced corporate environment. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and workstation issues while delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting desktop and laptop systems, performing equipment deployments, and resolving technical issues both onsite and remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level support for desktop, laptop, hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user technical issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Configure, deploy, and support new workstations, laptops, monitors, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Perform workstation imaging, re-imaging, and operating system deployments.
  • Execute data migrations, backups, restorations, and user profile transfers.
  • Support Microsoft Windows operating systems, desktop applications, and productivity tools.
  • Set up and maintain network-connected devices and assist with troubleshooting connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot LAN, server connectivity, VPN, and general network-related issues.
  • Utilize the organization's ticketing system to document, track, and resolve support requests.
  • Provide remote support to users as needed using remote access tools.
  • Install software updates, patches, and hardware upgrades.
  • Maintain IT inventory and assist with asset tracking and lifecycle management.
  • Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams while maintaining ownership through resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in Desktop Support, Help Desk, IT Support, or a related technical support role.
  • Experience supporting desktop and laptop hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware components, configurations, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience with workstation imaging and deployment processes.
  • Familiarity with data migration and restoration procedures.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems and service management processes.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environments.
  • Familiarity with remote support tools and endpoint management platforms.
  • Experience supporting printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or other relevant IT certifications are a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
