CHI Health Immanuel, located in North Omaha just off of I-680 on 72nd Street, offers a full-service hospital, cancer center, rehabilitation center, specialty spine hospital and more. For well over a century, our commitment to serve our community inspires our staff to provide the highest quality of care to all who we have the privilege to serve.
As our HIM Specialist Sr, you will play a pivotal role in the revenue cycle by maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and availability of patient health records throughout the medical record lifecycle. You will serve as a key resource within our Health Information Management department, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards and HIPAA privacy laws while supporting providers and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Every day you will perform advanced HIM functions, including document imaging, complex chart analysis, and the resolution of data integrity issues to ensure the accuracy of the Master Patient Index. You will be responsible for managing record completion processes, reconciling rejected orders, and supporting release of information (ROI) requests, all while meeting established productivity and quality standards to drive operational excellence.
To be successful in this role, you will possess a minimum of two years of experience in an acute care or healthcare setting, along with demonstrated proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications. You should be a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills; while a high school diploma or GED is required, an Associate degree in a health-related field and RHIT or RHIA certification are preferred to help us maintain the highest standards of data quality and healthcare compliance.
