Position Introduction:

The Administrative Support Assistant provides clerical and receptionist support to the Legacy of Hope Foundation team. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for clients seeking services while assisting staff with daily administrative operations. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and committed to maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in a human services setting.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative and clerical support, including filing, answering phones, copying, scanning, and organizing office records.
  • Greet clients and visitors in a professional, welcoming, and compassionate manner.
  • Assist with receptionist duties, including directing calls, scheduling, and responding to general inquiries.
  • Support staff with special projects, office organization, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate files and assist with data entry and document preparation.
  • Help ensure the office remains organized, efficient, and welcoming for clients, staff, and visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization's mission.

This position provides valuable experience in nonprofit administration, client services, and community outreach while supporting Legacy of Hope Foundation's mission to empower survivors, promote healing, and strengthen the community through advocacy, education, and support services.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma as a sophomore or higher in standing.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
  • Must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study funding.

Qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Must have been awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study funding.
  • At least six months of previous work experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism when working with sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with multi-line telephone systems is preferred.

Department Preferences:

  • Interest in nonprofit organizations, social work, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, or related fields.
  • Previous experience in a social service agency, healthcare office, or administrative setting.
  • Experience providing customer service in a professional office environment.
