Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Manager

Summary:

We are seeking a mid-senior level Facilities Maintenance Manager for a full-time role at a higher education institution in Tulsa, OK. The successful candidate will oversee maintenance operations for 41 buildings; including administrative offices and student dormitories. Manage a team of 30 Maintenance Technicians. A strong background in managing complex facilities, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and repair systems, is essential. Candidates with higher education facility management experience and strong people skills are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise Maintenance Technicians across trades, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
  • Manage daily maintenance operations for over 500,000 square feet of space, ensuring mechanical systems remain operational.
  • Oversee preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Supervise external contractors and vendors.
  • Address facility-related issues and concerns.
  • Implement safety programs and maintain compliance with safety standards.
  • Manage grounds, landscaping, janitorial services, and event management.
  • Oversee work order completion and scheduling through CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Contribute to facility planning, including construction and renovation projects.
  • Manage financial responsibilities, including labor, inventory, and supply management.

Experience:

At least 2 years of management experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations, or engineering services. Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience. Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a multi-generational team. Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, safety systems, and energy management. Prior experience managing large, complex properties, preferably in higher education. Demonstrated business and financial acumen, including P&L management.
