Organization Overview
The Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL) is a non-profit organization that recruits, trains, and supports new teachers in underserved communities to ensure every student has a great teacher and a transformative education. Founded in Chicago, IL, AUSL became the first urban teacher residency in 2001. Building on 25 years of transformative impact, AUSL is entering into a period of rapid expansion as we work to address the nation’s critical teacher shortage. As part of AUSL’s Vision 2030 plan, we’re committed to training 500 new teachers a year by 2030.

Role Overview
The Recruitment & Admissions (R&A) Team at AUSL leads the charge to ensure that accomplished professionals and emerging leaders become the transformational teachers our students deserve. As the primary touchpoint for future residents, our team stewards candidates through every stage of the application and admissions process.
The Enrollment Manager guides every admitted AUSL resident from offer to the first day of the residency. This person manages offers and placement, and supports each candidate to sign their offer letter. They serve as AUSL's primary point of contact with DePaul University, making sure every resident enrolls in DePaul's graduate program and completes all required onboarding on time. Through proactive outreach, events, and community building, the Enrollment Manager keeps incoming residents engaged, removes barriers before they lead to attrition, and builds a strong sense of belonging in each cohort. Using Slate and AUSL dashboards, they keep resident data accurate and use it to meet enrollment benchmarks and improve strategy year over year.
