FUNCTION:

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in promoting the health, safety, and well-being of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You’ll support daily living activities, community engagement, and personal development, while advocating for individual choice and dignity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understands, supports, and advocates with people we support by helping them live a life of personal significance.
• Identifies, documents, and shares concerns and successes as appropriate.
• Transports and accompanies people to activities, appointments, and events.
• Helps with personal care tasks as needed, laundry, and food preparation.
• Assists with money management by promoting independence.
• Completes service documentation/notes in Therap on the same day service is provided in accordance with agency guidelines.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS: No previous experience required – we provide all the training you’ll need! GED or High School Diploma required. Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and a reliable, insured vehicle preferred. Able to pass required background checks (Act 33 and Act 34 clearances). A caring attitude and willingness to help others.
