The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services (DTS), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to join our team as a Service Desk Analyst Senior. This position will serve as a Desktop Technician Lead, it will be responsible for installation, operation, maintenance and management of DTS LAN, and various business systems implemented within the LAN. Assists in developing work plans for new projects (Roll-outs, migrations to new platforms, software, hardware, etc.). Ensures all fixes, changes, upgrades and lessons learned are communicated, well documented and easily retrieved. Responsible for the inventory and management of hardware, software, software licenses, and other IT supplies. Assists Manager in completing needs assessments with clients, configuration and ordering of equipment. Leads the provision of technical support to DDD, DAAS, DBME, DCSS, DBF, DERS, OOD, OIG, and DTS programs leads the provision of technical support, training and application assistance to approximately 2800 LAN/PC users. Assist user with setting up and troubleshooting mobile devices. Interaction with internal clients to resolve escalated help desk issues, trouble calls and e-mail. Assistance in the facilitation of team meetings. Mentors through formal and informal channels. The Desktop and LAN support teams provides services to all DER offices statewide. Statewide responsibility include travel, overtime and overnight stays may be required.

This position is available for on-site work on a full-time basis within Arizona

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assists in distributing work load and in developing work plans for new projects (Roll-outs, migrations to new platforms, software, hardware, etc.). Assists Manager in completing needs assessments with clients, configuration and ordering of equipment.
  • Installation, operation, maintenance and management of DTS LAN, and various business systems implemented within the LAN. Provision of technical support for DES as well as technical support, training and application assistance to approximately 9200 LAN/PC users to include interaction with internal clients to resolve escalated help desk issues, trouble calls and e-mail.
  • Responsible for the inventory and management of hardware, software, software licenses, and other IT supplies.
  • Communication of difficult/sensitive information to the team and customers we support.
  • Responsible for warehouse inventory maintenance and reconciliation. Receiving and accepting into inventory computer devices (PCs, peripherals, printers, etc) as well as participating in the imaging production and deployment process.
  • Compose the documents in a logical format using Microsoft office products and often are required to find graphics, pictures, or illustrations to go along with the documentation as well as update documentation.
  • Mobile Devices: Maintain and update end-user mobile devices as needed, including but not limited to Smartphones, Tablet PCs, etc. Protect and Coach end-users in proper agency Security and Responsible use policies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Leadership and teamwork principles
  • Principles, capabilities, and operation of networked devices such as servers, PC's , network and communications devices
  • Desktop management, monitoring of application management, physical and software security solutions, virus protection, software distribution, and general version control
  • Current and Supported Operating Systems and Applications
  • Solve complex PC related problems
  • Setting up mobile devices for both iOS and Android
  • Vendor technologies, in-house developed applications and client computing hardware

Selective Preference(s):

This ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Associate Degree in Information Technology or closely related field as well as 1-3 years of experience providing diagnostic and troubleshooting support in a client desktop, cross platform environment, OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge and skills. Desired: A+ Certification, Microsoft Certified Professional

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • This position will require driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
  • Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
  • All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
  • Employee shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.
  • Associate’s degree OR three or more years of information technology experience (or equivalent experience).
