Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated individual with a commitment to public service to join the Digital Evidence Laboratory (DEL) within the Criminal Bureau. The DEL is a statewide unit comprised of digital forensic investigators and support personnel tasked with collecting and analyzing mobile devices, computers, media, and data from networks and third-party providers. Additionally, DEL personnel lead cyber initiatives across Massachusetts and the country designed to improve law enforcement’s ability to collect and analyze digital evidence and investigate the cyber components of criminal activity. One of the most significant of these training initiatives is the National Cyber Crime Conference, one of the largest annual law enforcement cybercrime and digital evidence training events.
The Cyber Crime Initiative Coordinator (CCIC) will provide administrative support to the DEL and will assist the Director, supervisory personnel, and forensic investigators in the performance of their duties. Additionally, the CCIC will support cyber-crime initiatives, including the National Cyber Crime Conference, the Massachusetts Digital Evidence Consortium, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Cybercrime Tipline, and the Massachusetts Digital Evidence Guide. The CCIC will also serve as a member of the Support Staff team within the Criminal Bureau and will be expected to report in a dual supervision capacity.
The Cyber Crime Initiative Coordinator will support DEL programs to ensure that our people, hardware, and software comport with requisite standards in the field. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
