Position Overview
A Pittsburgh-based property management company is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Community Manager to oversee the daily operations of an established residential community in Pittsburgh’s East End.
This position requires experience working collaboratively with executive-level Boards of Directors, residents, and service providers to ensure efficient operations, maintain community standards, and deliver exceptional service. The ideal candidate possesses high emotional intelligence (EQ) and a tactful approach to community relations, allowing them to navigate resident needs and balance competing priorities with absolute grace and fairness.
The ideal candidate is a polished, responsive, hands-on professional with exceptional written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a high level of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities - Operations & Resident Relations
- Primary Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between residents, the Board, staff, and management.
- Communications: Manage all resident communications (newsletters, notices, website) and address inquiries or concerns promptly.
- Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive, organized hardcopy and digital files for all residences and corporate records.
- Community Standards: Enforce community rules and Design Guidelines fairly, and take immediate action in emergency situations.
Staff & Board Governance
- Team Supervision: Supervise, schedule, and support on-site staff to ensure seamless, high-quality service.
- Board Support: Support the Board of Directors with monthly reporting, performance tracking, and governance needs.
Financial & Project Oversight
- Fiscal Management: Assist with financial tracking, delinquency management, and updating monthly expense forecasts.
- Project Coordination: Oversee community key/access management and help coordinate large-scale capital investment projects.
Compliance & Vendor Coordination
- Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with legal, financial, insurance, and government partners to ensure total compliance.
- Real Estate Support: Assist residents with necessary unit sales documentation in coordination with legal counsel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Software Skills: Experience with Yardi is preferred. However, candidates with a strong background in any standard property management software (such as RealPage, AppFolio, or Entrata) who demonstrate an ability to learn new systems quickly are highly encouraged to apply.
