The Maine Municipal Association's Risk Management Services department is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Claims Support Specialist to join our collaborative Claims team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate claims information and supporting the efficient administration of Workers' Compensation and Property & Casualty claims in a fast-paced, paperless environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Process and enter new claims and claim updates into the claims management system.
- Open, sort, scan, and route incoming correspondence and documents.
- Process medical bills, expense payments, and other claim-related transactions.
- Print and reconcile claim checks.
- Generate and distribute correspondence, reports, and Workers' Compensation Board forms.
- Perform daily electronic data transfers and claims processing activities.
- Respond to member and vendor inquiries and provide administrative support as needed.
- Assist with general office and departmental support functions.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two or more years of administrative or office support experience.
- Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Word.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to deal with the public, members, vendors, and employees professionally and tactfully.
- General insurance knowledge is preferred but not required.
