The Certified Nursing Assistant and caregivers is responsible for providing assistance to the professional staff. Delivers direct care to patients (bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc.) as directed by the RN or LPN. Always maintains patient comfort and safety. Follows all departmental policies and procedures as well as safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Adheres to the Core Values and mission with complete regard for the dignity of each person.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, as needed.
• Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping.
• Support clients with mobility and transfers, as trained and authorized.
• Provide medication reminders, as permitted by the care plan and applicable regulations.
• Follow established care plans.
• Communicate professionally with clients, families, and the care coordination team.
• Promote client safety, comfort, dignity, and independence.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma
• Certification: CNA- preferred
• Caregiver one year of experience required
• CPR
• 2 step TB test

Complies with Infection Control, Standard Precautions and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional.

Physical Demands

Stooping, turning, bending, squatting, kneeling and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; constant/repetitive standing; requires normal, correctable vision and hearing, and the ability to accurately discern color as necessary to perform job functions.
