POSITION: Box Office Manager

DEPARTMENT: Box Office

THE ROLE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the daily operations of the Box Office, providing direction, coaching, and support to the Box Office management team and ticket sellers.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, develop, and evaluate part-time Box Office team members, fostering a culture of accountability and exceptional guest service.
  • Ensure compliance with Legends Global policies, ticketing procedures, financial controls, and audit standards.
  • Build, manage, and maintain all ticketed events within the Ticketmaster Host, Archtics, or AXS systems, including event manifests, pricing, scaling, inventory management, holds, and on-sale execution.
  • Partner with promoters, talent buyers, and internal stakeholders to develop ticketing strategies, sales forecasts, and event configurations that maximize revenue and guest accessibility.
  • Oversee all ticket inventory, complimentary tickets, ADA seating, premium seating, group sales allocations, and internal ticket requests.
  • Manage daily ticket sales reconciliation, financial reporting, event settlements, and secure cash handling procedures while maintaining accountability for all Box Office funds.
  • Prepare and distribute accurate daily ticket counts, event settlements, revenue reports, attendance summaries, and other operational reporting.
  • Coordinate ticketing initiatives including fan club presales, venue presales, VIP packages, promotional offers, artist holds, and marketing campaigns.
  • Execute venue presale communications, including setup, distribution lists, and promotional coordination with Marketing and Event teams.
  • Manage ticket printing and distribution for sporting events, concerts, family shows, special events, marketing initiatives, and promotional programs.
  • Monitor staffing levels to ensure efficient labor utilization while delivering exceptional guest service during event operations.
  • Oversee Box Office operations before, during, and after events, ensuring efficient guest flow and resolution of escalated guest concerns.
  • Coordinate maintenance and troubleshooting of ticketing equipment and systems, escalating issues as necessary to minimize operational disruption.
  • Maintain accurate event documentation, archival records, and operational files in accordance with company standards.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve Box Office processes, operational efficiency, and the overall guest experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage Full- and Part-Time Supervisors, Cashiers, Ticket Sellers, and other Box Office staff. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Success in this role requires a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences while leading a high-performing box office team in a fast-paced entertainment environment. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, communicates effectively, adapts quickly to changing event needs, and maintains accuracy while balancing guest service, ticketing operations, and financial accountability. These qualities are essential to creating seamless experiences for fans, guests, promoters, and internal partners at every event.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sports Management, Hospitality, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) or more years of progressive Box Office leadership experience in an arena, stadium, theater, performing arts center, or other live entertainment venue.
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience leading full-time and part-time Box Office staff.
  • Demonstrated experience using AXS, Ticketmaster Host, and Archtics ticketing systems required.
  • Strong knowledge of ticketing operations, financial reconciliation, event settlements, inventory management, and cash handling procedures.
  • Experience collaborating with promoters, touring personnel, sports organizations, and venue leadership in a live event environment.
  • Working knowledge of ADA ticketing regulations and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, sound judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced knowledge of Ticketmaster Host, Archtics, and computerized ticketing operations.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in reporting, reconciliation, settlements, and cash management.
  • Exceptional guest service, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and employee development abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technology and adapt to evolving ticketing systems and operational processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Specific physical demands of the job include occasional sitting, focusing on and operating a personal computer several times a day, the ability to read printed words and numbers in printed form and on computer/terminal monitor, communicating by telephone for up to 30 minutes at a time on a daily basis, stand several times a day for up to five minutes to operate copier, fax machine, hearing sufficient to clearly hear voices, alarms, bells and horns; daily standing and walking for up to 15 minutes at a time to move throughout the facility and service events and write using pen/pencil or personal computer keyboard for up to 30 minutes at a time on a daily basis.
