This position serves as one of two assistant directors for Roanoke Island Festival Park and is responsible for oversight of all facilities, including physical buildings, grounds and the Elizabeth II, a working replica of a 16th century merchant vessel. This position also oversees the rental of the property for events.

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND four (4) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction including experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades including one (1) year of supervisory experience in construction, maintenance and/or repair of buildings and facilities; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.
Roanoke Island Festival Park is a 27-acre site. First opening in 1983 with the “Elizabeth II”, a 16th century replica sailing vessel, a visitor/ticket sales center, offices, and a 50-seat auditorium. In 1998 an expansion project was completed, adding an 8,500 sq.ft. Adventure Museum; a 240-seat film/small performance indoor theatre; 3,0000-sq.ft. meeting room; an outdoor performance pavilion with lawn seating for 3,500; a museum store; administrative offices; maintenance facilities; waterside boardwalks; and a public Kayak Launch.
