From primary to specialty care, as well as walk-in and virtual services, CHI Health Clinic delivers more options and better access so you can spend time on what matters: being healthy. We offer more than 20 specialties and 100 convenient locations; with some clinics offering extended hours.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Appointment Scheduler you will play a crucial role in patient flow and access to care within our dynamic healthcare environment. This position involves direct interaction with patients, ensuring timely scheduling for medical procedures, tests, and physician appointments. You will be instrumental in managing the patient journey, from initial contact to confirming coverage, contributing to an efficient and patient-centric experience. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional seeking to advance their career in medical administration and healthcare coordination.
Every day you will take ownership of incoming patient inquiries, meticulously scheduling appointments and navigating complex medical calendars. Your responsibilities will extend to conducting essential patient pre-certification, guaranteeing insurance coverage for scheduled services. You'll actively communicate vital information regarding appointments and preparation instructions to patients, and accurately collect insurance data and personal details. Furthermore, you may be involved in collecting co-pays and co-insurance, directly impacting our operational efficiency and patient financial experience.
To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 2 years of related experience in a healthcare setting, demonstrating your familiarity with medical scheduling and patient engagement. A strong understanding of the importance of precise data entry, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient satisfaction are paramount. You must be at least 16 years of age and possess the ability to manage a varied workload while adhering to all policies and standards, ensuring top-tier service delivery in a fast-paced clinic environment.
