Job Description

Assist artisans with basic and complex alterations.

Support garment preparation including opening seams, measuring and marking and organizing garments for alterations.

Perform stock repairs, spot cleaning and steaming of garments.

Observe and assist during garment fittings to gain understanding of garment fit, tailoring techniques and interacting with customers.

Assist with finishing work including pressing, steaming and quality checks to ensure garments meet company standards.

Support daily workflow by helping alterations managers and artisans track garments through the alterations process and by utilizing alterations system.

Learn how to alter different fabrics and garment types including tailoring, dresses, denim and evening wear.

Assist artisans with special projects including creating patterns and draping for custom orders.

Learn Leadership skills within a retail environment.

Follow company policies and safety procedures when using sewing and pressing equipment.

Partner with artisans and Alterations manager on working on a final project to demonstrate techniques learned during the program.

Compensation for this role varies by geographic location. The listed range reflects multiple markets, including higher-cost areas. Actual starting pay will be determined based on work location, experience, and other job-related factors.
