Children’s Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota dedicated exclusively to caring for children—from before birth through young adulthood. Independent and not-for-profit since 1924, Children’s Minnesota serves children throughout the Upper Midwest through two freestanding hospitals, nine primary care clinics, multiple specialty clinics, and seven rehabilitation sites.
Recognized as The Kids Experts™ in our region, Children’s Minnesota is regularly ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top children’s hospital. Connect with us on Facebook at @childrensminnesota, or on Twitter and Instagram at @childrensmn.
Children’s Minnesota is proud to have been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of its 2023 Top Diversity Leaders. This national honor recognizes healthcare executives and organizations that influence public policy and care delivery while advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion across their organizations and the industry.
Children’s Minnesota is seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our Pediatric Emergency Medicine team. This position will primarily support the new Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, and Healing (EMPATH) space within the St. Paul emergency department.
The EMPATH space provides specialized assessment, stabilization, and treatment services for children and adolescents experiencing mental health crises. The space offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach that helps improve access to timely behavioral health support while creating a more therapeutic environment for patients and families.
The Children's Emergency departments, located in Minneapolis and St. Paul, are staffed 24 hours-a-day by board-eligible or board-certified pediatric emergency physicians and by nurses with specialized education in pediatric emergency medicine. Each facility is designed to support short-stay needs, coordinate pediatric and neonatal care transport, assault and abuse services, access to pediatric specialists, and emergency telephone consultation and referral.
