Accountant

Position Summary:

Under the direction and supervision of the department management, the accountant performs professional accounting work, including analyzing and verifying fiscal records and reports; preparing financial and statistical reports; reconciling general ledger accounts; assists in preparing the annual budget; prepares year-end audit reports and schedules.

Responsibilities:

• Performs account analysis and reconciliation;
• prepares cash report update;
• maintains spreadsheets/logs;
• provides information based upon departmental requests;
• gathers appropriate information;
• creates and updates report;
• distributes reports to appropriate department;
• maintains fixed asset system;
• reconciles to general ledger;
• provides depreciation reports;
• maintains capital spreadsheet;
• prepares and inputs journal entries;
• updates supporting schedules;
• provides revenue and expense analysis;
• assists in the preparation and reporting of the annual budget;
• maintains detailed budget versus actual capital spreadsheet;
• analyzes data for reasonableness;
• prepares detailed work papers;
• assists auditors during fieldwork;
• manages difficult issues with a clear head, finding solutions that are most beneficial to all concerned;
• gathers sufficient information to make an informed decision;
• investigates all options and their consequences and makes timely decisions.

Qualifications:

Required: Has an associate degree in accounting or related field required or five years of previous accounting experience. Needs to be proficient with computer.

Preferred: Bachelors degree in accounting.

Infection Control:

Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include, but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio-hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.
