Job Description

Accountant

The spaces people rely on only stay open, welcoming, and well run if the numbers behind them are exact. This role owns the financial rhythm of a hospitality-led workspace business: memberships, private offices, meeting rooms, and events across multiple locations. You will turn daily transactions into a picture leaders can trust, so communities stay resourced and growth stays honest. When the books are late or unclear, decisions stall. When they are tight, the whole operation moves.

Performance Objectives

  • Close the books on the agreed calendar, with reconciliations finished and material variances explained in plain language.
  • Bill offices, memberships, rooms, and events correctly, and collect receivables so cash keeps pace with occupancy.
  • Pay vendors against contract and approval rules, and surface cost overruns before they erode location margins.
  • Deliver monthly reports that show revenue, operating cost, and contribution by location and service line.
  • Keep cash, expense, and approval controls audit-ready, so reviews do not require a second close.
  • Prepare complete tax, statutory, and audit schedules, and resolve open items without last-minute reconstruction.
  • Work with operations to cut billing leakage, missed charges, and unexplained cost so reported performance matches what sites actually deliver.

Environment & Resources

You report to the finance lead and work daily with location, community, and commercial teams. Accounting, billing, and banking systems are in place, along with contracts, occupancy data, and prior-period files. The finance group is lean. Your close, collections, and reports are visible and used, not filed away.

Essential Qualifications

  • Full-cycle accounting ownership in a multi-location service, hospitality, or property-related business.
  • Hands-on billing, accounts receivable, and cash application—not journal entries alone.
  • A record of reconciling accounts and closing on a fixed calendar without day-to-day supervision.
  • Working knowledge of VAT or sales tax and basic statutory filings in the markets served.
  • Reports non-finance leaders can use to decide, not accounting narratives they have to translate.
  • A professional accounting qualification, or equivalent depth proven in the role.

Role Selling Points

Finance sits beside hospitality and community, not in a sealed back office. Early-company scale: the process you build becomes how the business runs. Mixed revenue—offices, memberships, rooms, and events—means real operational complexity, not a single product ledger. A design- and people-led culture that still expects the numbers to be exact. If you want a close, a collections result, and a report leaders actually use, apply with a short note on one close you owned and what it changed.
