What is the opportunity?

The West Indies Stockbrokers Limited (WISE) team is looking for someone who is alert and aware of market trends and is creative with solutions to support the team and add value to the client.

What will you do?

  • Execute approved security trades efficiently and accurately for the mutual benefit of the client and WISE.
  • Develop key relationship with Risk Management and Compliance to ensure efficient trading operations.
  • You represent WISE on regulatory matters relating to fixed income trading while leveraging functional partners and the Regional Operating Office.
  • You balance the reward of meeting business objectives with the risk of loss to the client, employee, and shareholder by following corporate compliance/policies to maintain risk exposure and to operate within a legal framework and in accordance with securities regulations.
  • Prepare Trading Reports for public distribution.
  • Provide and implement strategies for the continuous improvement of the website as well as daily maintenance to ensure that it is always current.
  • Backup Equity Trader when necessary.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Graduate Degree/Professional Qualification in Accounting and or Finance,
  • Minimum five (5) years in Capital Markets, two to four years (2-3) of which must be in a trading environment.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks while meeting time sensitive deadlines.
  • A high degree of fixed income & equity markets knowledge and an appreciation of investment risks.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-motivated to achieve above average results.
  • Continuous learner with a deep curiosity about his/her diverse clients and keeps up to date with changes in client’s needs.
  • Effective communication, written & oral with cultural sensitivity.

Nice-to-have

  • Sound working knowledge of The Securities Industry Act 2012.
  • Sound knowledge of financial information systems and trading platforms i.e. Bloomberg and Avvento.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge including Pivot Tables and Vlookup functions.
  • Licensed trader with the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange and Trinidad & Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission.
