Finance specialist

This position is responsible for supporting financial management, reporting, analysis, and coordination activities within Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. The Finance Specialist will gain practical exposure to various areas of finance and business operations, while developing professional and management capabilities through hands-on experience.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Daily finance tasks
• Support the preparation, review, and analysis of financial reports, management reports, and financial information;
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and related financial analysis;
• Support the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans;
• Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis, and identify significant deviations for follow-up;
• Support financial data collection, reconciliation, verification, and analysis;
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records, working papers, and supporting documentation;
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost control, expense management, and other finance-related activities as assigned;
• Support financial analysis of operational activities and provide relevant financial information to management.
• Group reporting
• Assist in the preparation of financial presentations, reports, and management information for internal management and Zijin Mining Group Headquarters;
• Communicate and coordinate with Zijin Mining Group Headquarters and other Zijin Group entities regarding financial reporting, data collection, financial analysis, and other finance-related matters;
• Assist in implementing Zijin Mining Group's financial policies, procedures, reporting requirements, and management standards at Rosebel;
• Support communication and coordination between the local Finance team and Group Finance/other relevant departments;
• Conduct research and analysis on financial and business-related matters and provide recommendations where appropriate;
• Participate in finance-related projects, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional projects;
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure the proper handling of financial and business information;
• Complete assigned tasks and responsibilities accurately and within the required timeframe; and
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field;
• Professional qualification in accounting or finance is an advantage;
• Good understanding of accounting and financial management principles;
• Strong analytical and numerical skills;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced and multicultural working environment; and
• Willingness to work in a mining operation and gain practical experience in a remote and challenging environment.

Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in finance, accounting, financial analysis, or a related field; or Relevant experience gained through Zijin Mining Group's overseas management trainee or related development programs will be considered.

Fluent in both English and Chinese, both written and verbal, is required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with local employees, Zijin Mining Group Headquarters, and colleagues from other Group entities;

Strong reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills;

Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and present financial information accurately and clearly;

Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a multicultural team;

Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and confidentiality when handling financial information.

Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break.

If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (“Bewijs van Goed Gedrag”). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.
