The opportunity
China’s AI ecosystem is becoming increasingly relevant to ASEAN clients seeking greater technology choice, cost-effective innovation, sovereign deployment options and differentiated industry solutions. This role will be central to turning that market opportunity into a scalable business by connecting ecosystem relationships, account priorities, technical capability and disciplined commercial execution.
We are seeking a commercially driven Senior Manager to lead the go-to-market strategy for China-origin AI technologies across ASEAN. Based in Singapore, this role will connect the China AI ecosystem with priority ASEAN clients, build strategic alliance relationships, shape market propositions and convert opportunities into measurable pipeline and sales. The successful candidate will combine strong knowledge of the China AI landscape particularly the Huawei technology stack with the ability to lead account planning, sales and presales activities in a complex enterprise environment.
Your key responsibilities
- Pipeline ownership: Build, qualify and manage the ASEAN China-tech AI pipeline, with clear accountability for agreed pipeline creation, progression, conversion and sales targets.
- GTM strategy: Develop and execute an ASEAN go-to-market plan covering priority markets, sectors, use cases, propositions, campaigns, partner motions and commercial targets.
- Alliance development: Establish and deepen relationships with Huawei and other priority participants in the China AI ecosystem, including cloud, model, infrastructure, silicon, application and solution partners.
- Account planning: Work with account leaders to identify priority clients, map stakeholders, shape opportunity hypotheses and create actionable account plans for both China-headquartered companies expanding into ASEAN and ASEAN enterprises evaluating China technology.
- Sales leadership: Originate opportunities, lead senior client conversations, position differentiated value propositions and coordinate pursuits from qualification through close.
- Presales and solution shaping: Translate client needs into credible AI solution concepts, mobilise technical and industry specialists, coordinate demonstrations and proofs of concept, and lead proposals, presentations, commercial shaping and responses to requests for proposal.
- Robotics and Physical AI GTM: Identify and shape opportunities spanning industrial and humanoid robotics, embodied AI, autonomous systems, intelligent manufacturing and logistics, translating China-origin innovations into scalable ASEAN propositions, demonstrations, proofs of concept and partner-led solutions.
- Market activation: Build thought leadership, client events, executive roundtables, campaigns and partner-led activities that create demand and strengthen market visibility.
- Cross-border orchestration: Connect teams across ASEAN, Greater China and global delivery locations to bring the right capabilities, assets and subject-matter expertise into priority pursuits.
- Governance and reporting: Maintain disciplined opportunity management, forecast accuracy, partner reporting and regular reviews of pipeline health, risks, actions and investment returns.
China AI and Huawei Expertise:
- Strong understanding of the China AI ecosystem, including major technology platforms, cloud providers, foundation-model companies, open-weight models, AI infrastructure, industry solutions and emerging Physical AI players.
- Practical knowledge of the Huawei stack, ideally spanning Huawei Cloud, ModelArts, Pangu models, Ascend AI compute, data and analytics services, security, sovereign deployment considerations and relevant industry solutions.
- Good understanding of China’s robotics and Physical AI ecosystem, including embodied AI and foundation models for robotics, perception and sensor stacks, edge AI, simulation, robot operating platforms, industrial automation, autonomous systems, and the commercialisation of humanoid and service robots.
- Ability to compare China and Western AI stacks and explain trade-offs relating to performance, cost, interoperability, security, data residency, regulation, localisation and operating model.
- Established networks within China technology companies or demonstrated ability to build senior, trust-based partner relationships across China and ASEAN.
Skills and attributes for success
- Market maker who can create demand rather than wait for opportunities.
- Relationship builder who can navigate cross-cultural and cross-border environments.
- Structured operator with strong follow-through, commercial discipline and attention to outcomes.
- Collaborative leader who mobilises multidisciplinary teams without relying solely on formal authority.
- Clear communicator who can simplify complex AI topics for both business and technical audiences.
- Achievement of annual qualified-pipeline, sales and conversion targets.
- Number and quality of activated priority accounts and repeatable account plans.
- Strength and productivity of Huawei and broader China-tech alliance relationships.
- Successful launch and adoption of differentiated ASEAN propositions, campaigns and joint solutions.
- Progression of strategic pursuits from early-stage opportunity through proposal, proof of concept and close.
- Forecast accuracy, opportunity hygiene and disciplined reporting.
- Effective mobilisation of cross-border teams and creation of reusable market assets and references.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Typically 10–15 years of relevant experience in AI, cloud, enterprise technology, consulting, alliances, solution sales or business development, including experience operating at Senior Manager level or equivalent.
- Demonstrated success in building new markets or propositions and converting strategy into qualified pipeline and closed revenue.
- Proven experience leading complex enterprise sales and presales cycles, including account planning, opportunity qualification, proposal development, solution shaping, commercial negotiations and executive presentations.
- Strong understanding of enterprise AI use cases, AI adoption journeys, cloud and infrastructure considerations, data foundations, sovereign AI and responsible AI.
- Exposure to robotics and Physical AI propositions and delivery environments, ideally across manufacturing, logistics, infrastructure, energy, mobility, healthcare or smart-city use cases; able to engage both business sponsors and engineering stakeholders on deployment, safety, integration and value realisation.
- Commercially astute, comfortable with pipeline targets, forecasting, investment cases and performance reporting.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the credibility to engage C-suite clients, alliance executives, technical leaders, account teams and delivery teams.
- Fluent Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) required to engage China-based technology partners, review technical documentation, and conduct senior-level business discussions in Chinese; Excellent written and spoken English is also required to support cross-border stakeholder engagement across ASEAN.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, engineering, computer science or a related discipline; an advanced degree is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel across ASEAN and Greater China as business needs require.
