About the Role

Bureau Veritas Qatar is seeking a qualified and experienced IVS Inspector (Elevators & Escalators). The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections of elevators, escalators, and related lifting systems, ensuring compliance with applicable safety regulations, international standards, and industry best practices.

This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to assess installation, commissioning, and operational integrity of vertical transportation systems while providing professional inspection services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspection, testing, and verification of elevators, escalators, and related vertical transportation systems.
• Perform inspections in accordance with applicable international standards, safety regulations, and Bureau Veritas procedures.
• Review installation, commissioning, maintenance, and testing documents to verify compliance with project requirements.
• Assess equipment condition, operational performance, and safety-related components.
• Identify non-conformities and prepare detailed inspection reports with findings and recommendations.
• Witness testing and commissioning activities of newly installed or modified systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, including EN, ASME, JIS, and other applicable regulations.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities during inspection activities.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and reports in line with company requirements.
• Support business development activities through technical expertise and client engagement when required.
• Adhere to Bureau Veritas Health, Safety, Quality, and Ethics policies at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management within the scope of the role.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Vertical Transportation Systems (VTS/VHTS) inspection, specifically elevators and escalators.
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Valid LEEA certification(s).
• Strong knowledge of international safety standards and codes, including EN, ASME, JIS, and other relevant regulations.
• Familiarity with the review of installation, testing, commissioning, and certification documents.
• Good understanding of inspection methodologies, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and manage inspection assignments effectively.
• Valid Qatar Driving License is mandatory.
• Transferable visa is preferred.
• Previous experience in a TIC (Testing, Inspection, and Certification) environment is an advantage.
