About the Investors Team

The Investors team builds Gain's picture of private capital market participants: fund managers, their strategies, their portfolios and how they deploy capital. Our data powers investor search, benchmarking and asset-fund mapping across the platform and is increasingly becoming a core part of how our customers run their investment workflows.

We're building this product strategically around global investor coverage, creating the centralized data structures that track investor types, fund hierarchies and capital deployment at scale. The team spans a Lead, Associates, Senior Analysts, Analysts and Junior Analysts, working across profile building, asset-fund linking, data backfills, research and quality assurance and partnering with Tech and Product to take the manual grind out of the workflow wherever we can.

What will you do?

As an Analyst – Investors Team, you will contribute to building and maintaining Gain’s global investor intelligence product, with a focus on understanding how private capital investors are structured, how they deploy capital and how their investment activity is represented on the platform.

You will work closely with Senior Analysts and Associates across the Investors Team, carrying out structured research, investor profile development, fund and strategy analysis, asset-fund linking, data validation and quality checks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Research and analyse private market investors, primarily General Partners (GPs), covering their investment strategies, funds, capital deployment, ownership structures and portfolio activity.
  • Build and enhance investor profiles on Gain, including fund-to-strategy mapping, investor characteristics, fund hierarchies and relevant ownership structures.
  • Research GP fund activity and fund structures using company disclosures, regulatory filings, fund announcements, portfolio information and other reliable public sources, applying Gain’s sourcing and research standards.
  • Validate investor, fund and portfolio data through regular audits, refreshes and deep-dive checks, identifying gaps, inconsistencies and information that requires further research.
  • Link assets to the appropriate funds and strategies, researching which fund or strategy is responsible for an investment and applying Gain’s fund-to-strategy linking logic to validate exceptions and ambiguous cases.
  • Analyse investment activity and ownership structures, including primary investments, continuation vehicles, co-investments and other relevant private market transactions where applicable.
  • Apply Gain’s investor taxonomy and data structures when researching and representing strategies, fund relationships, ownership structures and capital deployment activity.
  • Use AI and automation tools in day-to-day research workflows to improve research efficiency, accelerate repetitive tasks and support structured data collection and validation.
  • Work on research and data projects that expand investor coverage, improve data quality and strengthen Gain’s investor intelligence capabilities.
  • Work closely with Senior Analysts and Associates to review outputs, incorporate feedback and continuously improve research quality and depth.
  • Take ownership of assigned work, delivering accurate and structured outputs while proactively flagging gaps, ambiguities and areas requiring further investigation.

What do you need to join us?

  • Master's degree / MBA with consistently strong academic performance in finance, economics, business, accounting or a related discipline.
  • 6 months –2 years of experience in financial research, private equity research, investment banking, consulting, Big 4, shared services / competence centres, financial data or analytics platforms.
  • Experience working with structured research, financial data or investment-related information is preferred.
  • Exposure to investor, fund, company or asset-level research is a strong advantage.
  • Working knowledge of private equity, fund structures, investment strategies and private market terminology.
  • Genuine interest in understanding how GPs and other private capital investors structure funds, evolve their strategies and deploy capital.
  • Familiarity with fund lifecycles, portfolio investments, ownership structures and GP/LP structures is preferred.
  • Exposure to fund disclosures, regulatory filings or private market data is a plus.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to find, assess and synthesize information from multiple sources.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality mindset, particularly when working with structured datasets.
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies, investigate ambiguous information and draw reasoned conclusions from available evidence.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, structured data and research tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and explain data decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies, including with Analysts, Senior Analysts, Associates, Product and Tech.
  • Comfortable asking questions, incorporating feedback and flagging incomplete or ambiguous information.
  • Bias to action — able to get things done with minimal supervision while maintaining a high bar for quality.
  • Strong ownership of assigned work, with a willingness to proactively identify gaps and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Curiosity about AI and GenAI, with an interest in using new tools to make research and data workflows faster and more effective.
  • Growth mindset and willingness to progressively build deeper expertise in private markets and investor intelligence.

What do we offer?

  • Opportunity to play a high-visibility role at a high-growth fintech scale-up with an international footprint.
  • Direct exposure to how private equity firms, family offices, independent sponsors and corporate investment arms structure capital, deploy investments and build portfolios across strategies and geographies.
  • The opportunity to help shape how GP strategies, fund structures and asset ownership are modelled and represented at scale.
  • Clear development path supported by lots of coaching and a feedback-driven approach.
  • Excellent and competitive base salary.
  • Annual bonus linked to your performance / OKRs.
  • Attractive benefits including remote working allowance, learning & coaching benefits, etc.
  • Fun working atmosphere with company-wide outings and events.
  • Above all, the opportunity to carve your signature in a fast-growing SaaS scale-up and be part of a team being built from scratch.
  • We are post-product-market fit and aspiring unicorn status; this is the right time to come onboard and make that ride with us.
