ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT PARAMEDIC JOB OVERVIEW
This position includes operational, Flight, Remote Site, and Offshore services as an Advanced Life Support Paramedic. You will respond to emergency medical & trauma callouts and ground/air ambulance evacuations to Advanced Life Support (ALS), Intensive Care Unit (ICU) & Critical Care inter-facility patient transfers for neonatal, paediatric, and adult patients. You will be expected to provide emergency medical treatment, primary healthcare and care in transit to patients serviced by Medical Rescue Africa. You will provide extensive & in-depth care to patients at an ALS/ICU level. The aeromedical operations include both rotor & fixed-wing operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responding to emergency calls, performing ground ambulance and aeromedical evacuations.
- Handling ALS/intensive care inter-facility transfers
- Assessing patients, providing emergency treatment, and monitoring and making preliminary diagnoses
- Communicating effectively & professionally with Medical Rescue Africa clients, patients, and other public members.
- Fulfil the role of a crew senior, ensuring that your shift is properly motivated and that basic on-duty tasks are done according to prescribed standards and company procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
- B.Tech EMC(SA)/B.EMC(Honors)(Namibia)/B.Hsc EMC (SA) (Preferred)
- CCA/Ndip EMC(SA)/B.EMC (Namibia) (Minimum)
- Advanced Medical Rescue (Preferred)
- Basic Medical Rescue
- Current ACLS/ITLS certifications (Minimum)
- Current ACLS EP, PALS/APLS, ANLS, EMOVA/DAMIT, AVIATION HCP (Preferred)
- Current HUET (Preferred)
- Current BOSIET/FOET) (Preferred)
REQUIREMENTS
- Active registration with the HPCNA as an ALS Paramedic or HPCSA as an ECP/Paramedic.
- Driver’s licence (Code 8/10) with a valid professional driving permit (PrDP - passenger).
- CPD compliant and in good standing with the HPCNA/HPCSA.
- Pass oral, written & patient simulation (Pre-employment & Quarterly).
- Valid Passport.
- Pass & maintain a current full offshore medical and/or Class One Aviation medical examination.
- Obtain ACLS EP, PALS/APLS, EMOVA/DAMIT & AVIATION HCP within twelve (12) months of employment.
