JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main Responsibilities:

  • To facilitate risk and safety assessment workshops within BV Malaysia and SEA region e.g. not limited to HAZID/PHA/ENVID, HAZOP, SIL Classification (Risk Graph and LOPA methods), Bow-tie, SCE Identification, SIMOPS/MOPO, ALARP Demonstration, Safe Operating Limit/Envelope (SOE/SOL), Alarm Rationalisation, CHAZOP.
  • To provide PSM trainings, HAZID/HAZOP and SIL Awareness training as part of Client requirement or being offered as part of optional Safety Studies scope of work.
  • To guide the team in recording software such as PHA PRO, Bow-Tie XP, SIL Calculation tool (exSILentia/SISuite/Total Energies GRIF).
  • Supervise safety cases and / or safety reports, including Facility Description, Safety Management System.
  • Review P&IDs, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Control Narratives, Operating Procedures, and Safety Philosophies.
  • Prepare and review workshop reports, recommendations, action registers, and executive summaries and ensure that the reports are prepared to BV Standard.
  • Develop quality deliverables as required by the project requirements or specifications.
  • Prepare/lead and/or coordinate the workshop activities and deliverables allocated to the projects in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Developing technical proposals for Risk and Safety assessment workshops including the development of the CTR.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on process safety and functional safety matters.

Other responsibilities

  • Assist BV Business Development in preparing proposals, presentations, provide technical advice and assist in marketing BV products and services.
  • Represent Bureau Veritas on related exhibition / committees / work groups.
  • Provide internal training to consultants to improve their knowledge and skills in safety studies.
  • Supervise task delegation to team.
  • Attend to client’s comments or clarifications during execution of projects.
  • Develop good working relationships with clients.
  • Attend client meetings to deliver effective technical solutions to clients.
  • Perform/supervise scope screening at initiation of bidding activities.
  • Deputizing for Department Head when required.
  • Follow local and international standards and guidelines for the Technical Safety studies or audits performed.
  • Recommending where any additional Technical Safety reviews are necessary because of scope change, design development, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 20 years of experience in Refinery/ Petrochemical/ LNG/ Food/ Offshore Platforms/ Floaters (FLNG, FPSO, FSRU, FPU, LNGC)/ Subsea (SPS/SURF/Subsea Pipeline)/ Oil & Gas/ Pipeline/ Process Industries.
  • Strong background in the followings: - Operations- Commissioning- Process Engineering- Process Safety Management- Asset Integrity- Functional Safety.
  • Demonstrated hands-on facilitation experience in leading: - HAZOP Studies (including CHAZOP or EHAZOP would be advantageous)- SIL Assessments- LOPA Studies- ALARM Rationalisation- HAZID and PHA workshops- SOE/ SOl workshops.
  • Requirements of Certifications and Accreditations:- TUV Functional Safety Engineer / Expert or equivalent- TUV Certified HAZOP Leader or equivalent- Chartered Engineer or professional accreditation preferred- Recognized Process Safety/PSM Certifications, CCPSC, NEBOSH/IChemE etc.- Functional Safety Training (IEC 61511/ IEC 61508).
  • Must be Malaysian citizen.
