This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP

The Paint Shop Supervisor oversees and performs painting on a variety of facilities and equipment. Monitors employees as they prepare internal/exterior surfaces as required to remove rust/unserviceable paint coatings. Performs and supervises Corrosion Prevention Control procedures as required to restore facilities and equipment to applicable standards. Ensures employees apply Pre-treatment, Primer & Paint as required to meet applicable standards. Handles & disposes of Hazardous Materials IAW rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervises painting on a variety of facilities and equipment. Prepares surfaces as needed i.e., masking/taping, painting, de-masking/touch-up, and stenciling
• Performs and oversees Corrosion Prevention Control procedures as required to restore facilities and equipment to applicable standards. Prepares facilities and equipment surfaces for primer/ paint by removing rust, unserviceable paint/primer coatings to include pressure washing, chipping, sanding, and/or sandblasting.
• Establishes and maintains a tracking mechanism to ensure required facilities and equipment are on the cyclic Corrosion Prevention Control Plan
• Maintains paint room and sets up, adjusts, and performs minor maintenance on painting equipment.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Able to obtain a CAC
• Must possess a valid US driver’s license

Experience:

• Five (5) years of painting experience of various facilities and equipment.
• Two (2) years of supervising painting of various facilities and equipment.
• Corrosion control experience preferred.
• Proficient in the use of all required respirators & Personal Protective Equipment.
• Experience in Hazardous Material Handling & Disposal.
• Possess or be able to acquire/maintain Government driver’s license.
• Proficient in the use of Army Technical Manuals.
• Proficient in Paint Booth, Paint Gun, Paint Pot, Paint Shaker operations/maintenance.

Skills:

• Ability to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.
• Highly proficient in English, both verbally and written.

• High-level organization and planning skills so workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
• Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets reports and documents.

Working Environment:

Work is generally conducted in a shop environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.

Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 85 degrees in the summer months).

Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

Physical Requirements:

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
