Under the supervision of the Facilities Operations & Maintenance Manager, the Carpenter Supervisor supervises a team which constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood & metal, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools, and conforming to building codes. Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.

One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Associate degree or equivalent preferred. Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC). Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain Host Country Passenger Vehicle license. Must possess valid Carpenter License.
Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of progressive experience in specified and related field, to include supervising employees. Evidence of completion of trade school and/or a minimum of four (4) years of apprenticeship training preferred. Apprenticeship training preferred.
Ability to supervise employees effectively; work under pressure, strict timelines, and regulations. Analytical skills to be able to solve work-related problems. Manual dexterity for installing material, and equipment, to meet specifications. Demonstrated effective organizational skills are also required, as well as a strong written and oral communication skills. Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation, and teamwork. Must exercise discretion and good sound judgment. Must have basic computer skills(knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to include, Word, Excel and Power Point preferred). Must have a thorough understanding of IBC Civil/Carpentry Standards.
Supervises a team of carpenters/construction workers.
Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 85 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions. No effective protection from the weather. The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard about ambient noise level. The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
