Job Description
The Active Feature Integrator (AFI) is responsible for ensuring the subsystem performance objectives of Active Brake and Mechatronic Steering systems are met while integrating quality, scheduling, and cost constraints. This role involves close collaboration with the Project Performance Leader (PPL) and other stakeholders to align technical, timing, and budgetary requirements.
Integration & Validation Planning:
- Develop the virtual and physical integration and validation plan in alignment with project scope, timing, quality, and budget constraints.
- Leverage technical expertise from VDYN Functional Integrators (FI).
Development Plan Execution:
- Lead and track the progress of the digital and physical development plan within the assigned perimeter.
- Coordinate all contributing disciplines (e.g., design, validation, testing).
- Create and enhance documents to report development maturity and validation status to PPL and N5 Leadership.
Schedule & Performance Management:
- Maintain and manage Active Brake and Steering schedules based on inputs from Chassis DREs or PPL.
- Communicate updates to VDYN Functional Integrators.
Compliance & Corrective Actions:
- Validate compliance with performance, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Implement and follow up on escalation and corrective processes in case of detected or anticipated deviations.
Knowledge Sharing:
- Prepare project lessons learned to improve future processes.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, or Mechatronics).
- Project management experience in automotive development (preferred).
- Design or vehicle development experience in a performance-related discipline (e.g., braking, steering, or active systems).
- Strong background in system integration, particularly for Active Brake and Mechatronic Steering systems.
- Proficient in building and tracking integration and validation plans.
- Deep understanding of subsystem performance metrics and quality standards.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of automotive safety and performance standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
- Ability to analyze technical data and ensure compliance with project objectives.
- Familiarity with mechatronic system validation.
