Job Description
In this role, the Simulator Technician I will be expected to:
- Perform routine technical tasks on site, in field or laboratory.
- Receive training in the various phases of laboratory, office, plant or field technical work. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Perform preventive maintenance on simulators and associated systems.
- Complete all assigned technical training and qualification programs.
- Conduct simulator pre-flight and post-flight inspections.
- Perform basic visual alignments.
- Execute automatic Qualification Test Guides (QTGs) and verify test results.
- Assist with simulator modifications, hardware upgrades, and refurbishment projects.
- Comply with Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and requirements.
- Provide timely technical support and customer service.
- Maintain simulator facilities and equipment through housekeeping activities.
- Perform logistics-related duties, including receiving parts, repairs, testing, and validation.
- Support administrative tasks and other activities required by the Technical Services team.
- Assist in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving simulator and related system issues.
- Utilize the Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to record and track maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- 2-year technical degree or 4 years in an electronic, avionic, or technical related field.
- Minimum of 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
- Ability to interpret system prints and schematics.
- Proficiency in operating test equipment (oscilloscope, multi-meter, signal generator, logic analyzer, etc.).
- Knowledge in analog and digital theory.
- Computer literate (PC and/or computer mainframe/architecture).
- Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repairs.
- Some Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
- Basic understanding of electrical, electronic, computer, and/or mechanical systems.
- Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues using maintenance manuals and procedures (e.g., SOP, AMM).
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Completion of mandatory military service or equivalent eligibility.
- Fluency in English and Korean.
- Experience in aircraft or flight simulator maintenance and support.
Educational Background
Candidates with the following educational backgrounds are preferred:
- Aircraft Maintenance
- Avionics
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Information Technology (IT) / Software-related disciplines
- Other engineering disciplines with experience maintaining system-based equipment
Technical Competencies
- Basic knowledge of analog and digital electronics theory.
- Ability to read and interpret system diagrams, engineering drawings, and schematics.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Ability to follow technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and documentation.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to understand and utilize technical documentation written in English.
