- 新規ライン立ち上げ: 次世代自動化ラインおよびロボティクスの設計、シミュレーション、検証
- 生産性・効率の極大化: 設備総合効率(OEE)データの分析を通じたボトルネックの特定、自社内でのインハウス自動化(ハード・ソフト両面)の推進
- トラブルシューティング: 生産・メンテナンスチームでは解決できない複雑なマシントラブルの解析・解決
必須(MUST)
- 学歴:工学士の学位(メカトロニクス、機械、電気、電子など)
- 製造業(業界不問)におけるPLCプログラムの設計・開発、および自動化ラインの導入・立ち上げ経験(目安3年程度~)
- 主な使用ツール:SiemensなどのPLC の知見・経験
- 英語:ビジネスレベル(社内・上司とのコミュニケーション用)
- 日本語:N3レベル以上 (現場とのやり取り用)

Divisions and Products
Valeo Japan consists of four main divisions:
- Power Division: Designs, develops, and manufactures products and solutions related to thermal management, comfort, and electric powertrains to accelerate electrification.
- Brain Division: Designs, develops, and manufactures products and solutions aimed at accelerating ADAS and reinventing the interior experience.
- Light Division: Designs, develops, and manufactures products and solutions to bring "Lighting Everywhere."
- Valeo Service Division: Handles aftermarket services for all products covered by divisions 1 through 3.
Note: This position belongs to the Brain Division.
Mission
Lead the design, programming, and installation of new automated production lines and robotics. Continuously improve existing manufacturing processes to reduce downtime, enhance quality, and increase throughput. Ensure all automation projects comply with Valeo’s production system standards, automotive industry regulations, and machine safety protocols.
Responsibilities
Project Phase:
- Collaborate with R&D and other Process Members on DFM / DFA / DFT
- Evaluate Product concept for automation feasibility and estimate cycle time, footprint and preliminary investment cost
- Contribute to Technical Specifications writing
- Lead the design review of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics for upcoming automated cells.
- Develop, simulate, and write foundational PLC logic, HMI screens, and robot trajectories prior to physical machine assembly.
- Ensure proper hardware and software safety architecture (e.g., safety zones, light curtains) in compliance with Valeo standards.
- Define criteria for machine acceptance and lead validation at supplier and on the Valeo shopfloor to ensure specifications are respected.
- Commission and integrate the automated lines, taking ownership of PLC debugging, robot path teaching, and vision system calibration.
- Conduct machine capability studies (Cpk/Cmk) and validate that the equipment meets target cycle times, scrap rates, and quality standards before handover.
- Integrate the new equipment into Valeo’s plant networks, ensuring seamless data flow to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and traceability databases.
- Create Working Instructions and train operators and technicians on the safe use and basic troubleshooting of the automated systems.
In Mass Production
- Act as technical expert for the maintenance and production teams, troubleshooting complex, non-routine machine faults to minimize downtime.
- Analyze OEE data to identify micro-stops or bottlenecks, implementing software or hardware upgrades to optimize cycle times (including inhouse automation).
- Manage engineering changes (ECRs) by modifying PLC code or robot programs to accommodate new part variants or quality improvements.
- Manage the safe decommissioning of automated cells as products reach their end of life and evaluate legacy equipment (PLCs, robots, vision cameras, servo drives) for obsolescence and coordinate the repurposing of valuable hardware for new projects.
Required (MUST)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, etc.)
- Experience in the design and development of PLC programs, as well as the implementation and commissioning of automated production lines in the manufacturing industry (any sector) (approximately 3 years or more)
- Primary Tools: Knowledge and experience with PLCs such as Siemens
- Business-level English (for internal communication and communication with supervisors)
- Japanese:N3 level or higher / for communication with the shop floor)
Preferred (WANT)
- Knowledge of communication and integration with MES and higher-level systems (ERP, core systems, production management systems, etc.)
- Experience using LabVIEW
