As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you'll drive technical strategy, mentor talented engineers, and collaborate across teams to create foundational services that enable rapid innovation and operational excellence.

Key job responsibilities

• Define and execute technical strategy for our retail automation platform, aligning technical decisions with business goals and customer needs
• Architect and lead development of large-scale distributed systems, establishing design patterns and best practices that enable system-wide integration and operational excellence
• Build and mentor engineering teams, developing technical talent and fostering a culture of continuous learning and shared accountability
• Partner with machine learning scientists and research teams to design and implement intelligent solutions that scale across diverse retail use cases
• Design foundational services and frameworks that accelerate innovation, improve team velocity, and maintain high standards for scalability, reliability, and performance

You'll focus on architecting and developing large-scale distributed systems that power our retail automation platform. Your work spans enriching our product catalog to drive growth, eliminating supply chain defects to improve efficiency, and filling critical gaps in our technology infrastructure. You'll collaborate closely with machine learning scientists, engineers, product managers, business owners, and operations teams to design intelligent solutions that scale across diverse retail use cases. Whether you're establishing design patterns for system-wide integration, mentoring engineers on technical best practices, or partnering with research teams to implement innovative solutions, you'll navigate complex technical challenges while maintaining clarity of purpose and driving toward solutions that benefit the entire organization.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
