Job Description

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Laboratory Operations

  • Manage daily operations of the industrial automation test laboratory.
  • Ensure availability and readiness of test racks, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Maintain laboratory standards, procedures, and housekeeping practices.
  • Coordinate lab maintenance and continuous improvement activities.

Inventory & Asset Management

  • Maintain inventory of PLCs, I/O modules, communication devices, HMIs, Industrial PCs, and related equipment.
  • Track asset allocation, movement, utilization.
  • Conduct periodic inventory audits and maintain accurate records.

Import, Export & Logistics

  • Coordinate import, export, receipt, storage, and shipment of laboratory equipment.
  • Manage shipping documentation, customs coordination, and logistics activities.
  • Work with procurement and vendors to ensure timely material availability.

Engineering Support & Test Setup Development

  • Support engineering teams in building and maintaining test setups.
  • Coordinate hardware procurement, assembly, and deployment activities.
  • Ensure availability of required hardware, software, and accessories for testing.
  • Assist with basic hardware troubleshooting.

Safety, Compliance & Audits

  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and EHS requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Lead inventory, quality, and safety audits.
  • Track and close audit findings and corrective actions.

Manual Testing & Validation

  • Execute predefined test cases and validation procedures.
  • Perform smoke and sanity testing after deployments or configuration changes.
  • Document test results, observations, and test evidence.
  • Report defects and assist engineering teams with defect reproduction.
  • Verify defect fixes as directed by engineering teams.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive 5S, workplace organization, and lab efficiency initiatives.
  • Recommend improvements to laboratory processes, asset utilization, and safety practices.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting laboratory operations, engineering environments, automation systems, inventory management, asset management, or related functions.
  • Working knowledge of industrial automation hardware and laboratory test environments.
  • Experience managing inventory records, asset tracking, and equipment utilization.
  • Knowledge of logistics coordination, procurement processes, and material movement activities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience working with PLC platforms such as Emerson PACSystems, Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, ABB, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols including Modbus, OPC, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, BACnet, and serial communication technologies.
  • Knowledge of safety programs, EHS requirements, audit processes, and compliance practices.
  • Experience supporting engineering laboratories, research and development environments, or automation testing facilities.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, 5S methodologies, lean practices, or other continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Experience executing manual testing activities and documenting validation results within engineering or product development environments.
