Job Description

Schneider Electric's purpose is to empower all to make the most of our energy and resources, bridging progress and sustainability. Our mission is to be the digital partner for sustainability and energy efficiency: Watch here.

Great people make Schneider Electric a great company - and we are currently recruiting for a Budapest-based Contract Manager (English speaking) in Hungary.

Purpose of the job:

The Contract Manager within Schneider Electric's Digital and Business Services environment supports Sales and Business teams in delivering software, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), digital offerings, subscriptions, cloud-based solutions, and technology-enabled services by drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing client contracts and related documentation.

The role is responsible for assessing contractual and commercial risks, ensuring alignment of client terms with company standards, supporting contract negotiations, and enabling sustainable business growth. The position also ensures compliance with internal requirements by securing the necessary approvals and maintaining effective contract administration throughout the full contract lifecycle.

What you will do:

  • Serve as a trusted commercial contracting partner to Schneider Electric Advisory Services Europe, enabling business growth, mitigating contractual and commercial risk, and supporting the delivery of both existing and newly developed service offerings, software solutions, digital platforms, and SaaS-based products.
  • Lead the drafting, review, negotiation, and risk assessment of complex customer and partner agreements, including SaaS, software licensing, cloud services, subscriptions, professional services agreements, statements of work, NDAs, reseller agreements, and strategic framework agreements, while providing clear recommendations and mitigation strategies to support informed business decisions.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product Management, Professional Services, Legal, Finance, and Commercial Operations teams to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused contracting support, drive successful deal outcomes, and act as the primary point of contact for contractual escalations and complex negotiations.
  • Drive contracting excellence and capability building by coaching colleagues, supporting client-facing teams, promoting best practices in commercial risk management and contractual governance, and helping stakeholders navigate software and SaaS contracting frameworks effectively.
  • Champion continuous improvement, digital innovation, and operational excellence by enhancing contracting processes, governance frameworks, automation initiatives, and performance measurement capabilities to improve efficiency, scalability, and business outcomes.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years' experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing software, SaaS, cloud services, licensing, subscription, technology services, or digital solution agreements where your organization acted as the service provider. Legal or formal contractual qualifications are advantageous but not required.
  • Strong commercial contracting expertise, including customer-facing negotiations in an international environment, with a solid understanding of software licensing models, SaaS delivery frameworks, subscription services, statements of work, intellectual property, data protection, and technology-related contractual and commercial risks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and build credibility with Senior Management, Executive Sponsors, Sales Leadership, Customer Legal Teams, Procurement Professionals, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive, business-oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset, demonstrating sound commercial judgment, personal accountability, a positive "can-do" attitude, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working within multinational and multicultural organizations, ideally within software, SaaS, digital platforms, cloud services, data services, or digital transformation businesses. Familiarity with contract lifecycle management platforms, contracting automation tools, and AI-enabled contracting solutions is considered an advantage.
