The ILP Fund Specialist is a dedicated subject matter expert responsible for the end-to-end fund lifecycle management of Investment-Linked Products (ILP) across different channels. This role sits at the intersection of product, distribution, and investment — serving as the primary liaison with external fund houses while partnering closely with internal distribution and investment teams to deliver a well-managed, competitive fund proposition.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fund Lifecycle Management
- Lead the setup, onboarding, and ongoing maintenance of ILP fund menus
- Serve as the primary point of contact with external fund houses on all fund-related matters, including fund launches, closures, mergers, and mandate changes
- Manage fund documentation, regulatory filings, and operational requirements throughout the fund lifecycle
- Coordinate with operations, compliance, and legal teams to ensure all fund changes are implemented accurately and on schedule
- Maintain an up-to-date fund menu and ensure data integrity across internal systems and policyholder-facing materials
2. Distribution & Sales Support
- Partner with broker, wealth planner, and agency distribution teams to address investment-related queries in a timely and accurate manner
- Develop and deliver fund training sessions, investment briefings, and proposition presentations tailored to each distribution channel
- Create and maintain sales support materials including fund factsheets, comparison tools, and ILP product collateral
- Support new business activities by providing fund information and investment insights to front-line distribution teams
3. Investment Alignment & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with CIM (Chubb Investment Management) investment counsellors to align fund positioning, messaging, and market commentary with Chubb's broader investment philosophy
- Act as a bridge between external fund managers and internal investment teams to ensure consistent and accurate fund narratives
- Participate in fund review meetings and contribute investment perspective to product discussions
4. Fund Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Provide regular fund performance data, analysis, and reporting to support the product team's fund review cycle
- Prepare fund performance reports and investment commentary to inform decisions on fund additions, terminations, and switches
- Monitor market developments, fund flows, and policyholder behavior to flag strategic considerations such as fund switches or menu rationalization
- Support the preparation of materials for fund review committees and senior management presentations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
- CFA, CAIA, CFP, or equivalent investment qualification preferred
- SFC Type 1 license (or willingness to obtain) advantageous for HK regulatory context
Experiences & Skills:
- At least 8-10 years of experience in investment-linked products, fund management, unit-linked insurance, or a related financial services function
- Solid understanding of ILP fund mechanics, including pricing, NAV, fund switches, and platform operations
- Experience working with or alongside external asset managers / fund houses
- Familiarity with Bermuda and/or Hong Kong insurance regulatory frameworks preferred
- Experience supporting distribution channels (brokers, wealth planners, or bancassurance) is a strong advantage
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret fund performance data and translate it into clear, actionable insights
- Excellent communication and presentation skills — able to convey complex investment concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Detail-oriented with strong project management and organisational skills to manage multiple fund events simultaneously
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across product, distribution, compliance, and investment functions
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint; experience with fund data platforms (e.g. Bloomberg, Morningstar) a plus
- Self-starter who can work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
