Job Summary

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for providing temporary support to our payroll team, with a strong focus on US federal, state, and local payroll taxes. This role will support payroll tax processing, compliance, reconciliation, and issue resolution across multiple US states.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting US multi-state payroll and a strong understanding of federal and state payroll tax regulations.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Support payroll tax activities across multiple US states, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Review and validate federal, State and local payroll tax calculations and withholdings.
  • Support payroll tax filings, deposits, reconciliations and reporting requirements.
  • Research and resolve payroll tax discrepancies, notices and employee tax-related inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Assist with Quarterly and year end payroll tax activities, including W-2 reconciliation and reporting.
  • Partner with payroll, HR, Finance and other internal teams to resolve payroll and tax related issues.
  • Support payroll audits and other payroll related projects as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll experience with a strong focus on US payroll Taxes.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multi state US payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, State and local payroll tax requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teams across different locations.
  • Experience with payroll and HRIS systems required. Workday experience is preferred.
