Role Purpose
Lead the architecture, design, development, integration, and delivery of Telecel Cash technology solutions while managing the software engineering team to ensure secure, scalable, highly available, and high-performing platforms. The role is accountable for translating business requirements into robust technical solutions, establishing engineering best practices, ensuring successful delivery of projects through production go-live, and continuously improving the engineering capability of the Telecel Cash technology organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the architecture for Telecel Cash platforms, ensuring secure, scalable, resilient, and high-performing solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
- Develop architecture standards, review solution designs, and evaluate emerging technologies to support business objectives.
- Lead and manage software engineering teams, establishing engineering standards, development best practices, code quality, and technical excellence while mentoring and developing team members.
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions from design through production go-live, including systems integration with banks, payment partners, merchants, and third-party platforms to ensure successful, high-quality implementations.
- Establish architecture governance, ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards, drive DevSecOps and CI/CD practices, manage technical debt, and continuously improve engineering processes and platform performance.
- Provide technical leadership for major production incidents, oversee root cause analysis and corrective actions, and work with Operations teams to improve platform availability, reliability, and service performance.
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, vendors, and technology partners, providing technical leadership throughout project life cycles while managing, coaching, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
Must have Technical / Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5–8 years of software engineering experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years leading software engineering teams.
- Proven experience designing enterprise-scale payment or fin-tech solutions.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture patterns and distributed systems.
- Experience with APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, and integration technologies.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD, containerization, and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience managing production releases and complex system integrations.
- Knowledge of mobile money, digital payments, financial services, or telecommunications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
