Job Description

Role Purpose

Telecel Finance is dedicated to fostering sustainable value through precise reporting, profitable expansion, optimal resource deployment, and a secure control framework. The Finance Decision Support Specialist serves as a vital strategic partner to the Technology leadership, leveraging financial expertise and operational knowledge to enhance performance and guide decision-making. This role is instrumental in delivering actionable insights that drive operational efficiency and ensure resources are allocated effectively to support the company's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Technology division to formulate annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-range strategic plans.
  • Execute advanced financial modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate strategic initiatives and guide investment choices.
  • Offer expert financial counsel to technology executives regarding business cases, investment proposals, and cost-reduction strategies.
  • Engage with cross-functional groups, such as IT, Network Operations, Capital Project Management, and Supply Chain, to pinpoint process enhancements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Technology leadership to enforce financial accountability and ensure strict compliance with budgetary parameters.
  • Generate and present comprehensive financial reports to senior management, detailing performance metrics, potential risks, and emerging opportunities.
  • Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with Technology leaders to facilitate open communication and effective business partnering.
  • Coordinate closely with the broader Finance function to align departmental activities with the organization's overarching financial strategies.
  • Assess the financial viability and projected return on investment (ROI) for new technologies and strategic projects in partnership with Technology leadership.

Requirements

Who we are looking for (Qualifications, Competencies – Skills & Behaviors)

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
  • Professional qualification (or candidacy) in ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAG, or equivalent (e.g., ACA).
  • Minimum of three years in a Finance Business Partner or Financial Analyst role, ideally within a technology-focused or telecommunications environment.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications operations, financial services regulations, and industry-specific cost drivers.
  • Proven capability in financial analysis, modeling, and synthesizing complex data into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Solid grasp of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP and other financial management tools.
  • Ability to translate financial insights into strategic business actions while maintaining a proactive approach to prioritization and deadline management.
  • Exceptional ability to articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders and engage confidently at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in reconciliation, reporting, and ERP accounting systems is highly beneficial.
