Job Description

Job Description:

Our team holds the responsibility on Fuel, Inerting and Fire Protection Systems of our legacy and under-development military platforms (e.g., A400M, C295, Eurofighter, MRTT, EuroDrone, FCAS NGFD & RC, SiRTAP). Along with them, Research, Technology and Development remain a core obligation to sustain, improve and evolve our current portfolio of products as well as our future developments.

The responsibility of our team spans through the complete life cycle of our systems, from earliest conceptual steps to continuous development and in-service fleet support, under all Systems Engineering stages. Thus system conceptual definition, detailed physical design, performance analysis, functional breakdown and implementation in control and monitoring architectures, systems certification and qualification, testing, requirements validation and verification, data reduction and analysis, maintenance and operational concepts - all of them are our tasks.

These activities need usually to be performed with a holistic mindset in their relationship with other sister, supplier and higher level (“system of systems”) instances, highly integrated with other stakeholders from which (and to whom) demands need to be accounted for.

Finally, in the current context of transformation and digitalization, skilful applicants are expected to be fluent and familiar with typical Systems Engineering processes and methods, notably MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering).

Tasks and accountabilities:

In the frame of our Combat portfolio products (EF, FCAS, SiRTAP, Spanish Trainer), the successful applicant main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the definition of Fuel, Inerting & Fire Protection Systems architecture.
  • Allocation of functions, requirements, performance and integrity level for the subsystems and equipment.
  • Systems, subsystems and equipment specification definition, under the frame of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Hydromechanic, functional, performance and thermal modelling of system behaviour along with individual system components.
  • Liaison with external partners, vendors and suppliers for the specification of products and followup of industrial and documentary deliverables.
  • Liaison with various groups within Airbus: Flight Test, Safety, Chief Engineer's Office, Programs, Airworthiness, Customer Support, MAP / FAL on-site, Procurement.
  • Elaborating relevant documentation for airworthiness, certification and qualification purposes.
  • Elaborating technical reports and analysis on functional, performance, control and monitoring, zonal safety and physical installation.
  • Support to testing activities: definition of test requirements, support for test execution, test tracking and test reporting (rig, aircraft ground and aircraft flight testing).
  • Analysis of occurrences (In-service fleet, Continuous Airworthiness Support, Equipment Obsolescence) and evaluation of consequences and mitigations.

Skills

As a successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills and competencies:

  • Engineering Degree
  • Working knowledge of Modelling tools (Matlab, SIMULINK, SCADE, Amesim, etc.)
  • Experience in Hydromechanical systems is mandatory.
  • Experience in Aerospace Systems Controls and Monitoring is desirable.
  • Experience in Data Analytics is desirable.
  • Experience in Aerospace Hydromechanical Systems is desirable.
  • Negotiation level in English (both written and verbal).

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
