Role title: IT Systems Administrator

Reports to: IT Infrastructure Manager Database & Windows Server

Location: Kinshasa

Role purpose:

Infrastructure database systems administration

• Administration of servers, database systems and applications
• Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of IT systems.
• Manage system upgrades, patches, and configurations
• Optimization of resource allocation and scalability
• Automate daily database health reports
• Maintains an inventory of all database servers and services in terms of counts of databases, operating systems running, servers’ roles/functionalities, locations, IP address ranges, hostnames

Security & compliance

• Systems user access management administration
• Systems and database hardening and vulnerability closure
• Ensuring compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

• Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Conduct regular testing of recovery procedures (TRPs)
• Ensuring business continuity in case of system failures.

Collaboration

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align IT infrastructure with business goals. Acting as a subject matter expert for infrastructure-related projects with PMOs

Monitoring & Reporting

• Implement monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Provide/Automate weekly & Monthly Database availability Reports
• Generation of performance and capacity reports for management.
• Recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs

Incident & Change Management

• Strictly follow Vodacom change management policy and minimize system downtime
• Ensure incidents are logged and worked out within IT OLA and Vendors SLAs

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in:
• Windows & Linux server administration
• Databases (MS SQL, MYSQL, Oracle ..)
• Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (script, PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Experience with IT security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR)
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills

Full-time position

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• Relevant 2 years’ experience in administering database systems
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure administration

Preferred Certifications Microsoft Certified: Azure & Database Administrator / Solutions Architect Oracle OCA
