About the Role

The Vice President Indirect Spend leads the global management of indirect spend categories, driving strategic sourcing, procurement operations, and supplier partnerships that support business growth. This role is responsible for optimizing cost, mitigating risk, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance while maintaining Barry Callebaut's quality standards. The position leads a global organization of approximately 100 colleagues through 10 direct reports and collaborates closely with senior stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Lead the global sourcing and purchasing operations for indirect spend categories, ensuring financial and operational objectives are achieved
  • Identify business objectives and link them to supplier capabilities
  • Develop and execute a global indirect procurement strategy that optimizes cost, mitigates risk, and delivers sustainable business value
  • Drive strategic sourcing initiatives through the consistent application of sourcing best practices and methodologies
  • Deliver sourcing commitments by identifying, developing, and implementing value-generating procurement projects
  • Develop and continuously improve harmonized procurement processes, tools, templates, KPIs, and organizational design
  • Identify new purchasing opportunities and savings strategies across indirect spend categories
  • Negotiate favorable commercial and contractual terms with suppliers to maximize value for the business
  • Build strong partnerships with key business stakeholders to jointly deliver business objectives
  • Leverage technology and digital solutions to enhance sourcing effectiveness and procurement performance

About You

Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, or a related field is required. Master's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred. At least 10 years of procurement experience within an FMCG / Manufacturing based industry. Minimum 5 years of experience leading a complex Regional and / or Global procurement function. In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices and strategic sourcing methodologies. Experience managing multiple indirect spend categories such as Logistics, Energy, Packaging, CapEx, and Professional Services is preferred. Strong negotiation, influencing, stakeholder management, and strategy development skills. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration capabilities. A leadership style that promotes teamwork, innovation, inclusion, accountability, and high ethical standards. Willingness to travel internationally approximately 15% of the time. Fluency in English is required.
