How does the role impact the organization?

Raymond James Ltd. is seeking a Senior Analyst Supplier Risk Management to work in our Vancouver office.

Reporting to the AVP Risk Management RJL & Chief Risk Officer Trust, the Senior Analyst Supplier Risk Management is responsible for acting as the liaison to internal business units in the creation and administration of enterprise supplier risk management requirements and practices as it translates in Canada. This role is new to the firm and requires a proactive client-focused approach, while simultaneously building and maintaining strong relationships with related partners and vendors to ensure timely completion of vendor risk assessment and compliance with regulatory and internal standard or policies.

What will your role be responsible for?

  • Initiates and facilitates initial and periodic vendor risk assessments in a timely fashion.
  • Establish strong relationships throughout the firm and provide guidance on enterprise supplier risk management framework and supplier risk related issues.
  • Proactive follow up with the business and vendors for outstanding due diligence documentation as part of the supplier risk management program.
  • Lead the analysis of the organization’s supplier risk profile and develop mitigating controls to identified risks.
  • Coordinates with management and key stakeholders regarding vendor risk and performance.
  • Implement regulatory and enterprise supplier risk requirements as applicable to the local firm.
  • Track the completion of exit strategies and performance monitoring documentation.
  • Assist with the locating and centralizing vendor contracts.
  • Identifying opportunities for contract consolidation.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of all relevant internal policies and regulatory requirements applicable to the supplier risk management.
  • Tracking and closing exceptions related to vendor risks.
  • Develops and maintains quality data and metrics for management reporting and escalations.
  • Support the design and implementation of a common and consistent Supplier Risk Management (SRM) program to effectively manage vendor risk in accordance with internal policy.
  • Maintain a structured internal governance framework, to ensure effective oversight of the SRM program.
  • Serve as lead for implementing remediation plans including development and execution of corrective action plans, and ensure follow-on reporting and monitoring.
  • Provide guidance to the business and other stakeholders to ensure requirements of SRM are fully understood.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What do we expect from you?

To qualify for this opportunity, you must possess:

  • A degree in business (or equivalent) with a focus in supplier, vendor or third-party risk management.
  • 5+ years of recent supplier / vendor or third-party Risk Management experience, preferably at a large CIRO, Security Commission or an OSFI regulated financial institution.
  • Expert in developing and maintaining internal reports using Microsoft office tools.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supplier / vendor risk management.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills so as to identify and resolve diverse, complex and ambiguous issues in a timely and practical manner;
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well under pressure;
  • Able to build strong relationships through respect and authenticity, and to collaborate with a diverse network of business partners;
  • Established professional values including sound judgment, integrity, going the extra mile for clients, and being tenaciously driven to achieve results;
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Actively bring proactive and positive attitude.

Asset Qualifications:

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoft Access.
  • Supplier Risk Management certification (equivalent) or working towards one.

Salary Range: $80,000 - 90,000 annually, in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives. Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, internal equity, and other job requirements.
