Job Summary

You are responsible for supporting the delivery of transit fleet maintenance services, by coordinating fleet maintenance activities, administering vendor invoices/contracts, and service coordination to ensure the efficiency and safety of our fleet. You are responsible to ensure compliance, documentation accuracy, and performance monitoring to support asset management, fleet optimization, and capital planning.

You will work closely with internal teams and external partners (ie vendors), to ensure efficient execution of maintenance programs and contribute to long-term fleet resilience and operational reliability.

Education and Experience

Completion of a High School diploma, along with the completion of one of the following apprenticeship programs: Truck and Coach Technician (310T) or Automotive Service Technician (310S) or Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer (310B).

Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience post completion of Apprenticeship within Transit Fleet Maintenance with exposure to the full range of programs and activities in a transit fleet maintenance operation.

Certifications and Licences

Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as Truck and Coach Technician 310T or Automotive Service Technician 310S or Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer 310B is an asset.

Knowledge

• Knowledge of fleet preventative maintenance, repair workflows, and parts inventory.
• Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams and the use of a FMIS.
• Knowledge of the processes used in the Technical Support Branch for vehicle procurement and supplier/manufacturer liaison.
• Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.

• Read, understand and interpret service related documents, schematics, drawings, technical manuals, and work orders.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a time sensitive environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively internally and externally with vendors.
• Possess flexibility and adaptability to adapt to shifting priorities and changing service needs.
