Job Description

Being part of Cummins means working alongside today’s most innovative thinkers to solve the world’s toughest problems. We are proud to offer learning and development opportunities designed to promote individual performance and spark purpose and trust within our teams. We look to hire the best and then help you to become even better.

Join Cummins’ Asia Pacific Finance team and play a key role in supporting inventory accounting, reporting and analysis across the region.

Working closely with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain and Pricing teams, you’ll provide insights that help drive better business decisions while gaining exposure to a global organisation.

This is also an exciting time to join Cummins, with Finance undergoing a major transformation as we transition to a global SAP platform. Alongside your core accounting responsibilities, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, reporting enhancements and the SAP transformation program.

This is a 12-month Fixed Term contract – ideally starting in November.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Manage inventory accounting, including reconciliations, journals, schedules and financial reporting
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities
  • Analyse inventory costs, variances and trends, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain and Pricing to provide financial insights and support business performance
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls and financial requirements
  • Support audits and respond to inventory-related enquiries
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes, controls and reporting
  • Contribute to the transition to SAP and broader Finance transformation initiatives

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with CPA, CA or equivalent
  • Experience in financial accounting, reporting and analysis, ideally in inventory, manufacturing or costing
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including controls and compliance
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to investigate variances and communicate insights to both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
  • Experience with process improvement or transformation, with SQL, SAP, Oracle or Power BI exposure advantageous
