Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Services Coordinator to lead our Environmental Services team in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic hospital environment. This is a permanent full-time position responsible for overseeing daily operations, coordinating staff, maintaining cleaning standards, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention, workplace health and safety, and hospital policies.

You will lead by example, foster a positive team culture, and drive continuous improvement to support high-quality patient care.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, support, coach, and mentor the Environmental Services team
  • Coordinate daily staffing and work allocations to meet operational needs
  • Monitor performance and assist with recruitment, onboarding, and training
  • Ensure patient, clinical, public, and non-clinical areas meet hospital cleaning standards
  • Conduct quality inspections and adjust workflows to meet service demands
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, WHS, accreditation, and hospital policies
  • Promote safe work practices, including appropriate use of PPE, chemicals, equipment, and manual handling techniques
  • Collaborate with nursing, clinical, maintenance, and infection prevention teams, and communicate daily priorities to staff

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in hospital environmental services or healthcare cleaning
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Conflict management experience
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • A commitment to quality, safety, and infection prevention standards

Remuneration

This role offers an hourly rate of $38.69 per hour + superannuation.

Additional Information

Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months.

According to the role, Ramsay may require proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
