We are currently recruiting for a Specialized Engineer - Energy & Sustainability to join our Total Facilities Management team in Dubai.
Scope:
Specialized Engineer - Energy & Sustainability supports the Energy & Sustainability Manager in implementing the organization’s sustainability and energy initiatives. The role involves conducting research, analysis, energy audits, utility monitoring, and efficiency improvement projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and international sustainability standards. The engineer also supports energy and water management strategies, monitors asset performance, and identifies opportunities to reduce resource consumption. This HQ-based role may require irregular working hours and occasional visits to remote locations.
Financial:
- Identify and implement energy, water, and sustainability initiatives to achieve cost savings.
- Conduct financial analysis of energy conservation measures (ECMs), including ROI, payback period, and life-cycle cost assessments.
- Track and verify savings from energy efficiency and sustainability projects.
- Support preparation of project budgets, business cases, and capital expenditure proposals.
- Review and validate utility bills and monitor utility expenditure trends.
- Support procurement and technical evaluation of energy-efficient equipment and systems.
- Contribute to annual energy and sustainability cost reduction targets.
Customer:
- Serve as a technical focal point for clients on energy and sustainability-related matters.
- Prepare and present energy performance, sustainability, ESG, and utility reports to stakeholders.
- Conduct site assessments, energy audits, and sustainability reviews for client facilities.
- Support clients in achieving sustainability certifications, regulatory compliance, and energy management objectives.
- Respond to customer queries and provide recommendations for operational improvements.
- Coordinate with facility teams, contractors, and vendors for implementation of improvement projects.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive engagement and performance reporting.
- Support development of new sustainability services, tools, and performance optimization strategies.
Process:
- Develop and support energy management strategies and policies to ensure the efficient use of utilities, including electricity, water, sewage, and waste.
- Conduct energy, water, and waste audits in line with Energy and Environmental Policies, preparing detailed reports and action plans for utility consumption reduction.
- Perform ASHRAE Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Energy Audits to identify efficiency opportunities and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with facility managers, property managers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with energy management policies, while delivering training and awareness programs.
- Support feasibility studies, establish project requirements, and provide technical expertise for energy and utility management solutions, including bid support and client presentations.
- Establish utility consumption baselines, conduct benchmarking against industry standards, and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
- Lead energy and water conservation projects from business case development through implementation, including Measurement & Verification (M&V) of savings and performance.
- Conduct carbon accounting and audits (Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions), monitor utility and emissions data, and ensure accurate, timely, and consistent reporting for performance review and decision-making.
Innovation:
- Identify and evaluate innovative technologies related to energy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability.
- Support deployment of smart metering, IoT, AI-driven analytics, and digital energy management solutions.
- Research emerging industry trends, best practices, and sustainability technologies.
- Develop data-driven dashboards and automated reporting solutions.
- Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence through innovative solutions.
Selection Criteria:
- Graduation in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, FM or Sustainability, Environmental, CSR)
- LEED GA Certified Preferably LEED AP
- CMVP / CEA / CEM / CAP certified preferable
- Data Analysis

- Extensive knowledge and well versed in Sustainability.
- Prior knowledge of LEED, Green Building Guidelines.
- Previous experience in Sustainability & Energy Industry
