About the role

Avery Dennison Graphics North America is committed to advancing innovation through proprietary, disruptive, and sustainable technologies. As the Commercial Innovation Platform Manager, you will lead the development and commercialization of new product innovations, including solvent-free and PVC-free materials. In this role, you will operate as an entrepreneurial-minded operational leader on an agile innovation team, leveraging market research, driving business cases, overseeing project execution, and establishing cross-functional alignment across Marketing, technical teams, R&D, and Front-End Innovation.

Key Responsibilities

This position is based hybrid/on-site in Mentor, Ohio.

  • Lead the development and commercialization handoff for innovations that meet current and future market needs, while managing execution activities with a direct team of collaborators.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, resourcing, and budgets for strategic innovation platforms including solvent-free adhesives and PVC-free materials.
  • Articulate Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) requirements, align unmet market needs, and maintain visibility of project schedules, risks, and costs through regular dashboard reporting.
  • Drive process improvements for innovation prioritization, roadmapping, and execution accuracy while establishing robust business cases and project management tools.
  • Strategize across cross-functional teams and external suppliers to forecast potential risks, manage project scope, and systematically capture institutional lessons learned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Business or Technology-related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant project management experience, including leading technical and innovation-related projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with expertise in project tracking software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheets) and business case development.
  • Demonstrated leadership, facilitation, and relationship-building skills with proven experience presenting to all organizational levels and collaborating with key stakeholders and suppliers.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $119,700 - $178,000 / year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
