The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Responsibilities:

NP/PA

Exciting hybrid opportunity for an experienced Cardiac Surgery PA or NP with our Adult Cardiac Surgery Team. This position is a mixture of both intra-operative first assisting including endovascular (endo-vein and endo-radial) harvesting and our Cardiac Surgery Clinic. This is a Monday through Friday daytime position.

Intra-operative duties require surgical first assisting with a focus on endovascular (Saphenous vein and Radial artery) graft harvesting. Our world-class quaternary referral Cardiac Surgery Team performs a broad array of routine and pioneering procedures including CABG, valvular surgeries (including minimally invasive), Aortic procedures, LVADs, Heart Transplants, surgical arrhythmia procedures, robotic procedures and much more, affording our providers a challenging and enriching experience.

Clinic duties will focus on pre- and post-operative clinic evaluations and management of general cardiac surgery patients (excluding Heart Failure surgical patients, ie LVADs and Transplants). We utilize both in house and tele-health for our clinic operations. Our new clinic provider will also support our novel Chronic Aortic Diseases clinic.

Requirements:

Minimum 1-2 years of Cardiac Surgery first assisting and must include endoscopic-vein and endoscopic-radial harvesting. PAs must be graduates of an ARC-PA accredited program and NPs must have RNFA credentials. All candidates must be NYS licensed or eligible.

University or Rochester Cardiac Care offers world class Cardiac Surgical and Cardiology services to patients from western, central and northern New York, the southern tier of New York, as well as numerous referrals from centers in Vermont and northern Pennsylvania. Our Cardiac Care team is experiencing rapid growth including moving into the top 4 floors of our new $700 million tower in the Spring of 2027. Surgical volumes remain consistent averaging over 1000 cases annually.

Nurse Practitioner

Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant

Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
