At GSK, we have bold ambitions for patients, aiming to positively impact the health of 2.5 billion people by the end of the decade. Our R&D focuses on discovering and delivering vaccines and medicines, combining our understanding of the immune system with cutting-edge technology to transform people’s lives. GSK fosters a culture ambitious for patients, accountable for impact, and committed to doing the right thing, making sure that we focus our efforts on accelerating significant assets that meet patients’ needs and have the highest probability of success. We’re uniting science, technology, and talent to get ahead of disease together.
Clinical Matrix Teams (CMTs) are asset-focused teams of functional leaders that design and deliver early- to late-stage Clinical Development Plans (CDPs). As the number and complexity of CMTs has grown, these teams need dedicated project management capacity to stay organized, disciplined, and focused on the critical path.
The Associate Director Clinical Development Project Manager provides the project management and communication-planning backbone that keeps one or more CMTs running efficiently, freeing functional leads to focus on clinical strategy rather than administrative coordination.
The role owns the full lifecycle of CMT project management assets — from charter, scope, and kickoff through governance, risk, resourcing, and reporting, to implementation, training, and closeout — and partners with CMT functional leads and the broader PPM organization to standardize how CMTs plan, govern, track progress, and report status.
The Associate Director Clinical Development Project Manager demonstrates a strong grounding in established project management methods and brings a track record of applying them within a complex, matrixed life sciences organization. With guidance from the CMT Lead and/or PPM Director, the role manages CMT project infrastructure with limited day-to-day oversight, escalating risks and issues to leadership as required.
