Job Description

The Team

As Lending Transaction Management Expert you are part of the sector coverage team Trade & Commodity Finance Agri based in Amsterdam. You will be working in a dynamic and diverse international team of dedicated Trade & Commodity Finance sector experts and be responsible for the in-life management of the team’s lending exposure as well as provide the relationship managers with general client coverage support.

Clients are the largest global agri commodity trading houses, that source among others coffee, cocoa, sugar, grains and dairy products in origin countries and ship it across the world to destination countries where those commodities are consumed.

Your role

The Lending Transaction Management Expert works closely with the relationship managers and plays a crucial role in delivering a seamless client experience, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Supporting relationship managers in execution of all lending and other commercial activities as well as portfolio management, including clients on-boarding and KYC.
  • Assist the Deal Team with preparation of the credit application, including (among others): Sanctions Transaction Assessment (PCRA), ESR Transaction Assessment, origination of Capital Velocity arrangements (CPRI), Legal Representative verifications on loan documentation and ensuring booking of covers in our systems as required by policies.
  • Perform in-life monitoring of lending transactions post-signing, including the setup and maintenance of covenant structures, ongoing covenant tracking, and monitoring of DS Conditions to ensure compliance with agreed terms and prevent breaches.
  • Ensure alignment with policies & procedures, keep track of the latest developments, engage with the stakeholders to correctly interpret and timely implement the changing internal policies and new regulations as well as timely follow up on the co-related remediation plans.
  • Review annual risk rating updates prepared by an administrative support team, including key controls implementation and adherence.
  • Monitor and maintain reporting and review dates for management and risk purposes on client level, including regular reporting at portfolio level and ad hoc requests.
  • Maintain data quality, check and analyze the accuracy and timeliness of data, identify critical data gaps, work with system owners to extract the required data and to automate the process.

What we are looking for

  • University degree major in business/economics or relevant business discipline.
  • Relevant banking experience e.g. Front Office support, operations, regulatory or credit analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and lending policies as well as systems applicable to Wholesale Banking.
  • Ability to translate policies/strategies into actionable items and ability to suggest improvements.
  • Collaborative and inclusive team player with consistent high marks on Orange Code behaviour; embracing diversity and cross-cultural awareness and able to work effectively across functions.
  • Committed and dedicated individual that is very organized and pays high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and take ownership.
  • Self-motivated and willing to work in a deal oriented and deadline driven environment.
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
